SUPER! #1 - Remastered, Retooled, & Rehydrated

Hey all!! I've had a bunch of requests for updates lately, so I am making another one. Here are the answers to some questions I have been getting: 

1) Any updates on SUPER! #1? - It is still in progress. Unfortunately, rewriting huge paragraphs of text that were previously jammed into panels at tiny font sizes while still maintaining the heart and humor of the story has proved a challenge, and it is slow going and occasionally frustrating. But we're still working on it. We want to tell you "we hope it's done this month" but we don't want to create expectations or upset anyone, either. If you would like a refund for your pledge rather than waiting, please let me know.

2) Why are you running current campaigns when this book isn't done? - We are always entirely transparent with what's going on with us and why so I'm happy to answer this. We are currently running two other campaigns, one for "Finding Dee", here: https://www.uhstudios.com/kickit2, and one for "Power Broker #1-4", here: https://www.uhstudios.com/kickit. We are running these campaigns because the creators involved with them are completely different ones than than the ones involved with SUPER!, and BOTH of those books are completely done and ready for print. I would be happy to send a digital copy of any of them as proof. :) Unfortunately, despite the fact that we have had this unexpected huge delay with SUPER!, we want to keep our other books moving and those creator teams paid and afloat for what they want to do. 

3) What will you do to prevent this happening in the future? From now on, we are launching NO campaigns until the book is entirely completed and ready, with (almost) no exceptions to this rule (TTRPG books that have a huge art budget we'd need from funding, for example, would be one rare exception). Though we fully expected to be done and did not launch the campaign with any deceptive purposes, we don't want to risk setbacks of ANY kind in the future. 

4) Will I still get my stuff? Absolutely. We just aren't sure when the rewrite is going to be done, exactly. We hope it's soon. If you need a refund in the meantime, let us know. We thank you for your patience otherwise. :)

Good day, comic fans.

I wanted to give you a little update on SUPER! number one. Bottom line is I've had an awful time as of late, mental health-wise. I don't like making excuses, or even talking about my struggles, but unfortunately the relaunch of SUPER! has been affected by this and a slew of "Oh, by the way, this other random crap popped up that you didn't plan for and now needs to get done ASAP. Whoops. Sucks to be you, broh."

I appreciate your continued patience and your excitement to finally read it again for the first time (for many of you, it really will be your first time!). Believe me, I understand and share in your irritation that things haven't gone as smoothly as I would have liked. I promise, when we launch campaigns for the remaining issues of SUPER!, the books will be done beforehand.

In the meantime, here's an excerpt from the rehydrated issue: Meet Superstar. He's the leader of the People's Champions, a ham for the cam, and a hero that our cover girl Blitz happens to idolize. Here he is about to go ape on Kongarr the Uncontainable...

Hey everyone,

My name is Erek and I am responsible for retooling SUPER! issue 1. Suffice it to say, things have not quite gone according to plan. Overbooked, overworked, and undermedicated, the last few months have been an adventure for me. Excuses aside, I am happy to report that the rehydration process of SUPER! has resumed in earnest, and I fully expect the book to be completed in the coming weeks and sent to the printer.

I'm sorry that getting it to you all has taken a little longer than we initially planned, but I really appreciate your continued patience.

Thank you for making SUPER! REMASTERED a reality! A few things need to happen before we can kick off production and fulfillment.

Here's a quick rundown:

First, we need to finish relettering/tweaking the book. It's still in progress! 52 pages is quite a chunk. But it shouldn't take more than a few weeks, and some of it is already done.

Second, Kickstarter needs to transfer over the funds so we have the money to MAKE the rewards (this can take up to two weeks).

Third, we have to find out sizes, covers, and addons you want, and where we need to ship them. We’ll send out a BackerKit survey to collect this information.

Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://super-1.backerkit.com/.
